Fiber Optic Gateway for Mesh Wi-Fi Networks

Overview

The RUCKUS Fiber Node is an optional, field-installable accessory that provides customers a unified Point-Of-Presence (POP) and fiber Optical Network Terminal (ONT) backhaul interface for the P300 Point-to-Point Bridge and the T300, T300e, T301s, T310c, T310d and T301n outdoor access points.

The Fiber Node converts 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet from the AP to fiber via an SFP cage, and also acts as a VAC-to-PoE power injector for the attached access point — eliminating the need for separate power infrastructure in outdoor deployments.

Designed for fibre-ready outdoor environments, the Fiber Node ships with a mounting bracket that allows the AP to be mounted on one side with the Fiber Node on the other, keeping the installation clean and unified. The enclosure is rated IP67 for full weather protection, with an operating temperature range of −20°C to 65°C.

Supported SFP optics include EPON/DPoE (20 km reach, 9/125 µm SMF) and 1000Base-LX (10 km reach, 9/125 µm SMF), giving deployment teams the flexibility to match any carrier or campus fibre infrastructure.
